Boguslaw Iskra

Boguslaw “Bogdan” Iskra, 67, a devoted father, grandfather and longtime member of the Chicago Ridge community, died peacefully Nov. 15, 2025, surrounded by family.

He was born April 6, 1958, in Jadowniki Mokre, Poland, to the late Wladyslawa and Stanislaw Iskra. As a young man, Iskra immigrated to the United States, bringing with him the traditions, values and strong work ethic of his homeland. His warm personality, easy laugh and generous spirit quickly endeared him to many.

Iskra was a devout Christian whose faith guided his life and shaped the compassion he showed to others. His family remembers him as a man who remained hopeful and joyful even in difficult times.

He was a loving brother to Jozef, Emil, Izabela, Elzbieta, Barbara, Roman, Stanislaw and Celina. He was a devoted father to Edyta, Dawid and Katarzyna, and a proud grandfather to Julia, Liliana, Kuba and Milena. His family recalls his steady guidance, his love for sharing traditions and his passion for activities like fishing, hunting, music and cooking. His Polish dishes, especially, were a highlight of family gatherings.

Iskra’s home was often filled with the aromas of his cooking, the sound of music and the company of those he loved. His family says he taught through example, emphasizing the importance of hard work, gratitude and embracing life’s simple joys.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jozefa, and his family takes comfort in their reunion.
