The Palos Park Woman’s Club collected 34 units of blood during its 12th annual blood drive on Nov. 11, partnering with Versiti BloodCenters to help meet local community needs.
The drive took place at the Palos Park Recreation Center, 8901 W. 123rd St.
“Thank you to all who came out and donated,” said Mary Ann Parkins, a Palos Park resident and Woman’s Club member.
Aurelio’s Pizza in Palos Heights donated pizza for donors, and former Palos Park Mayor John Mahoney participated in the drive, coincidentially on his birthday.
The annual event continues the club’s tradition of community service through blood donation drives that support regional medical facilities.
