Born Eleanor Razo in Pilsen, she had a distinguished career in law enforcement, starting as a lockup keeper with the Chicago Police Department, then serving as a police officer with CMS Police for the State of Illinois, and finishing as a senior investigator with the State of Illinois Fugitive Apprehension Unit.

Survivors include daughters Rossanne (Jason) Wankovsky and Reina (Flavio) Fernandez; grandchildren Angelica Cruz, Rose Michelle Nava, Alejandro Fernandez and Aliya Fernandez; great-grandchildren Gabriel Vega, Isaac Vega, Lilyana Kozenko, Luis Nava Jr. and Lyxander Nava; siblings Suzanne (Richard) Cervantez and Raymond (Yvonne) Razo; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Simona “Susie” Castro and Paul Razo, and siblings Adele (Richard) Reyes, Jay (Maritza) Castro and Audrey Connelly.

Visitation will be held Friday, Nov. 14, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Foran Funeral Home, 7300 W. Archer Ave., Summit, and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. until prayers at 9:15 a.m. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Rene Goupil Church. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery.
