John Hancock College Prep, 5437 W. 64th Place, Chicago, will hold a Thanksgiving Basketball Tournament and welcomes donations.
The event, called 2025 Inaugural Harvest Havoc will be held Nov. 24 and Nov. 25 in the evenings starting at 5:30 p.m, Nov. 26 beginning at 2:30pm, and Nov. 28 and Nov. 29 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The JHCP Boy’s Basketball Team is made up of 18 athletes who are looking for an athletic outlet for skill development, discipline, healthy active competition, and community involvement.
Over the course of the tournament, 2-3 referees are needed per game. With 2-4 games a day, the total needed is 36 referees. They are looking to cover the cost of the referees for the tournament. Approximately $2,000.00 will cover half of the referee cost.
Schools attending include: Hancock College Prep, Richards (Oak Lawn), Johnson Prep, St. Rita, St. Laurence, Tinley Park, Evergreen Park and University High.
The goal of the tournament is to bring local, accessible basketball games to high school athletes in the Southwest Chicagoland Region.
By supporting the team, donor business information will be shared with the coaches, referees, and families from all eight schools.
There are various levels of sponsorship available starting at $100 and your help will be greatly appreciated.
