Someone in Hickory Hills is sitting on a $500,000 Lucky Day Lotto ticket, and they might not even know it yet.
It all started at the Speedway on 95th Street, where one quick stop turned into a half-million-dollar win. The ticket for the Nov. 5 evening drawing matched all five numbers: 2, 17, 29, 31, and 40.
No one’s claimed the prize yet. Whoever bought that ticket has a year to come forward, and if they’d rather stay anonymous, they can. The lottery says the smart move is to sign the back and keep it somewhere safe until then.
The Speedway at 8759 W. 95th Street will get a $5,000 bonus for selling the jackpot ticket. Out of nearly 19,000 winning tickets in that drawing, this was the only one that hit all five numbers. For now, it’s anyone’s guess who’s holding that lucky slip, maybe a regular or someone just passing through.
Lucky Day Lotto is an Illinois-only game with two drawings every day. Maybe the next big winner is still out there filling up at the same pump.
