Audrey Krusnis

Audrey Krusnis (née McNichols), beloved wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, passed away suddenly on October 27, 2025. Born in Chicago, Illinois, to Kenneth and Florence McNichols, Audrey was the middle of seven children and grew up surrounded by family. She lived life with an open heart and arms always ready to hug.

Audrey found joy in being with family and friends, celebrating every occasion, big or small. She showed her love through her cooking—her famous bacon buns, kugelis, ribs, and countless other cherished recipes will be remembered by all who knew her.

Devoted wife of 50 years to Vyto Krusnis, Audrey often said, “I’m so lucky to have stayed with my one true love because I’ve only ever had one true love.” She shared her heart freely with her daughters, sons-in-law, grandchildren, and everyone fortunate enough to know her. To know Audrey was to be loved by her, and she will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her loving husband, Vyto Krusnis; daughters Katie Krusnis (Mike Sopkin) and Vicki (Rob) Fink; grandchildren Gavin and Jimmy Fink; her cherished siblings and their spouses; cousins; and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather for a Memorial Visitation on Sunday, November 9, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of Service at 3:00 p.m. at Palos-Gaidas Funeral Home, 11028 Southwest Hwy., Palos Hills, Illinois.

In lieu of flowers, please hug your loved ones and tell them you love them. Donations to Misericordia are welcome.
