WVLI is thrilled to announce the launch of the WVLI Podcast Network, a new platform bringing trusted local voices to listeners in ways you’ve never heard before. The network’s tagline says it all: The Voices You Trust, Beyond the Dial.
At launch, the network features two shows:
• WVLI News Update with Rob West – already delivering daily headlines, keeping the community informed on everything local. New episodes are released every weekday morning.
• This One Time in Kankakee – a narrative storytelling podcast sharing unforgettable real-life stories from residents across the county. The first episode was scheduled to premiere Monday, October 6, with new episodes every other Monday. Listeners will dive into tales like a grandfather’s near-death encounter with a tractor in the 1930s and a mischievous night when a group of friends “borrowed” a local cow statue. Each story blends humor, heart, and the unique grit of life in Kankakee County.
“WVLI Podcast Network gives the community more ways to hear the voices they already know and trust,” said Jake LaMore, previously known for creating Kankakee Podcast and creative lead for the network. “From daily news updates to these unforgettable stories, our goal is to bring local life to your ears, beyond the dial.”
