It was a fun early evening at the Forest View Park District on October 1 as village firefighters joined children at the park to toss around a football and play drills with the kids.
Dawn Walczak, Director of the Forest View Park District, said it was another great event.
“It was very fun for both the kids and firefighters, and we hope to have more events like this soon.”
The Forest View Park District was recently one of eight nominations in the Southland Chicago area to receive a beautification award.
“We submitted our ‘Light up our Park’ new lights project”, said Walczak.
“Commissioner Debbie Marcolini and I attended an award luncheon this past week. Although we did not win, it was an honor to be in the running against much bigger areas. Just because we are little, we can still go up against the big guys!”
“We are very proud of our beautiful park,” she added.
