Ioanna “Gianoula” Simeakis (née Stavroulakis), 93, passed away on Oct. 7, 2025.
She was the beloved wife of the late Emmanuel Simeakis and the loving mother of Nick (Athena) Simeakis, Kanella (Antonios) Vivilakis, Dr. Sofia (Dr. George) Borrelli, Maria (Stefanos) Tsapaliaris and Peter (Dr. Franciska Theodosis) Simeakis. She was a proud Yia-Yia of 15 grandchildren and great-Yia-Yia of 15 great-grandchildren, and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held Friday, Oct. 10, from 10 to 11 a.m. directly at Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 10301 S. Kolmar Ave., Oak Lawn, until the time of service at 11 a.m.
Interment followed at Bethania Cemetery in Justice.
