Mary K. Mondt (née Otowski), a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and teacher, died after a courageous battle with metastatic breast cancer on Oct. 1, 2025.
She was the beloved wife of Fred Mondt and the loving mother of Laura (Nate Smith) Mondt and Frederick (Lauren) Mondt. She was the proud grandmother of Simon and Renata Mondt, and Mildred, Gwendolyn and Frederick Mondt. Mary was the dear sister of Sharon (Frank) Morosky and sister-in-law to the late Sue (Michael) Rosen, Jo Ann (John) Mendyk, Nancy (Dan) Langan and Carol (Mark) Gurda. She was also a fond aunt of many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Corrinne Otowski.
Mary dedicated nearly 40 years to teaching and was a longtime active parishioner of St. Daniel the Prophet Church, where her faith and love for education enriched the lives of many.
Visitation was held Monday, Oct. 6, from 3 to 8 p.m. at Foran Funeral Home, 7300 W. Archer Ave., Summit. Visitation continued Tuesday, Oct. 7, from 8:30 a.m. until prayers at 9:30 a.m., followed by a procession to St. Daniel the Prophet Church for a 10 a.m. Mass. Interment followed at Resurrection Cemetery.
