Joanne Bryja, 30, of Chicago, died Oct. 1, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter and creativity.

Born Oct. 14, 1994, in Chicago, she was the cherished daughter of Elżbieta and Marek Bryja and the loving sister of Stanislaw. She was the beloved granddaughter of Krystyna and Stanislaw Szeliga, and of Weronika and Jan Habas, and was preceded in death by her grandfather, Wladyslaw Bryja. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and her beloved dog, Hazel.

A graduate of DePaul University, Joanne earned her degree in public relations and advertising. Her education reflected her passion for communication and connection, and her Christian faith guided her in all she did.

She was a gifted artist whose creativity shone through singing, dancing and painting. Deeply proud of her Polish Highlander heritage, she often celebrated her roots through her art and daily life.

Joanne was known for her humor, warmth and boundless imagination. Her laughter was infectious, and her compassion touched all who knew her. She will be remembered for her joyful spirit, her creativity and the love she shared so freely.

Visitation was held Sunday, Oct. 5, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Damar-Kaminski Funeral Home & Crematorium, 7861 S. 88th Ave., Justice.

Funeral prayers and procession began Monday, Oct. 6, at 9 a.m. from the funeral home to Our Lady Mother of the Church Polish Mission, 116 Hilton St., Willow Springs, for a 10 a.m. Mass. Interment followed at Good Shepherd Cemetery in Orland Park.
