On September 26, at 3:50 p.m., Monee officers were dispatched to 25655 S. Governors Highway (Monee Liquor Depot), for a fight in progress. Upon the officers’ arrival, they met with the victim, who was bleeding from the nose and learned the victim was in a physical altercation with Jerry Lewis, 64, of Monee. The altercation started over $19 dollars owed to Lewis by the victim. When Lewis learned the victim took his money, he allegedly struck him upon the head and back with a 2-by-4 piece of lumber after striking him in the face with a closed fist. The victim refused medical attention and was uncooperative with officers. Lewis was arrested and charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. He was taken to the Will County Adult Detention Facility in Joliet for further processing.
On September 26, at 4:55 p.m., a traffic stop led to the arrest of Daniel Stef, 62, from Bradenton, Florida. Stef was charged with improper use of registration/title, operating a vehicle when its registration is suspended for noninsurance, and operating an uninsured vehicle. He was subsequently released with a notice-to-appear.
On September 26, at 7:03 p.m., a traffic stop led to the arrest of Eric Evans, 20, of Beecher. Evans was charged with unlawful display of registration and illegal transportation of alcohol by driver. He was subsequently released with a notice-to-appear.
On September 27, at 5:50 p.m., a Monee officer, while actively patrolling south bound on Governors Highway, observed two subjects shoving and yelling at each other. The officer stopped to assist and identified the subjects from prior contacts. The male subject was Keetwon Mongomery, 31, from Monee, and the second subject (victim) is a minor and appeared disheveled. Mongomery was arrested and charged with aggravated battery on a public way and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He was taken to the Will County Adult Detention Facility in Joliet for further processing. The victim was taken into protective custody by Monee officers.
On September 28, at 12:58 a.m., a traffic stop led to the arrest of Freddie Lemont White, 43, from Matteson. White was charged with improper use of registration/title, operating a vehicle when its registration is suspended for noninsurance, driving while his license is revoked, and operating an uninsured vehicle. He was subsequently released with a notice-to-appear.
