Nancy Ruth Delorto, nee Skala, 92, died Sept. 22, 2025, at her daughter’s home in Loveland, Colo.
She was the wife of the late Thomas A. Delorto and the mother of Thomas M. Delorto and Karen (James) Pierro. She was the grandmother of Angela, Cara, Mia, Joseph, Anthony, Vincenzo and CJ, and the great-grandmother of Dominic and Anthony.
Delorto was the daughter of the late Ernest and Florence (Michael) Skala. She was preceded in death by her siblings Ernest Skala, Edward (Elaine) Skala, Irma (Art) Pettit, June (Aldo) Beata, Betty (Sidney) Malinow and Robert Skala. She was the sister-in-law of Diane Skala and the aunt of many nieces, nephews and extended family.
A longtime resident of Chicago’s West Lawn community, Delorto was remembered by family for her selfless and compassionate nature, her honesty, and her love for her grandchildren and “bonus grandchildren.”
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1, at Foran Funeral Home, 7300 W. Archer Ave., Justice. Visitation continues at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, until prayers at 9:15 a.m., followed by a procession to St. Mary Star of the Sea Church for a 10 a.m. Mass. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery.
