Event to include $2,500 scholarship for Lincoln-Way culinary student.
Tickets are on sale for Mayor Keith Ogle’s popular annual fall fundraiser, Taste of Frankfort. Ogle and his fundraising committee will host the event Tuesday, September 23, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at CD & ME, 23320 S. La Grange Road.
The fundraiser features food samplings from local restaurants. This year’s participants include Aurelio’s Pizza, Bear Down Barbecue, Chef Klaus, Dancing Marlin, El Mezcal, Enrico’s Italian Dining, Francesca’s, The Loft, and Trails Edge Brewing. A total of 20 restaurants have been confirmed. The event also will feature a raffle with more than 30 specialty gift baskets, plus a photo booth.
“This event will truly have something for everyone,” Ogle said. “We have some new restaurants as well as local favorites. We continue to be amazed at how the event keeps growing, and I’m pleased to be able to showcase the restaurants in Frankfort.”
Participating restaurants will offer a variety of options, ranging from local favorites to ethnic classics. Ogle said this year’s event also includes a $2,500 scholarship for a Lincoln-Way student pursuing culinary arts or hospitality management.
Tickets are $50 per person and include all food. Sponsorships are available. Tickets may be purchased online at Eventbrite.com. For more information, call 815-412-1971.
