The rain cleared Saturday morning in time for the 19th annual Lyons Township Democrats Fall Fest at party headquarters on 63rd Street and Archer Road in Summit.
The event ran from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and drew local officials, candidates and residents for food, music and conversation.
Lyons Township Supervisor Christopher Getty, who also serves as mayor of Lyons, welcomed attendees. Also present were Lyons Township Democratic Committeeman, mayor of Bridgeview, and former state Sen. Steve Landek, Assessor Pat Hynes, Clerk Elyse Hoffenberg and Trustees Mark Anderson, Miriam Cruz and David Imielski.

State Sen. Mike Porfirio, state Rep. Abdelnasser Rashid, Countryside Mayor Sean McDermott and Summit Mayor Sergio Rodriguez joined other elected officials from across Lyons Township and Cook County.
Brian Bernardoni, president of the Roberts Park Fire Protection District, emceed the event.
Guests ate grilled hamburgers, hot dogs, tacos and ice cream while listening to live music from Charles and Company.
The kids enjoyed pumpkin decorating and face painting, making the family-friendly event a hit with all that attended.
The organization, led by Landek, plans to celebrate the fest’s 20th year in 2025.
