Valentine “Val” Tokarczyk Sr., a lifelong Chicagoan and longtime resident of Justice, Illinois, passed away too soon on September 7, 2025. His life was marked by laughter, creativity, and a kindness that touched all who knew him.
Val was a devoted husband and father, happiest when surrounded by his wife, Karen, and their sons—Valentine Jr., Thomas, and Nicholas. He loved sharing adventures with his boys, especially their Pokémon Go runs through different towns in pursuit of “catching them all.”
He is survived by his beloved mother, Carmella, and his sister, Jenny. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Tokarczyk, whose memory he held close throughout his life.
Val had a passion for technology, computers, and programming. As an Applications Analyst II on the Digital Solutions Team at Old National Bank, he was admired for his sharp intellect, problem-solving skills, and dedication. Beyond his professional accomplishments, he was remembered for his generous spirit and the lasting impact he made on colleagues and friends.
Val leaves a legacy of love, humor, and a reminder to savor the journey as much as the destination. Though he may have logged off from this world, his story lives on in the hearts of those he loved.
Visitation will be Saturday, September 13, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Damar-Kaminski Funeral Home & Crematorium, 7861 S. 88th Avenue, Justice, Illinois. Cremation rites will be accorded.
