Nova Scholars Tutoring Center opened Sunday in Orland Park with the promise of providing a welcoming space where students can strengthen skills in math, science, reading, and more. The private, independent center emphasizes individualized attention so each student gets the support they need to succeed.
The grand opening at 64 Orland Square Dr. drew students, parents, and educators who came to tour the facility, meet tutors, and learn about the center’s programs. The event ran from 1 to 4 p.m. and marked the launch of a business aimed at boosting academic achievement through personalized support.

The center is owned by Baraa Banibaker, of Palos Hills, who holds a degree in computer science from Northern Illinois University. Banibaker previously taught computer science and math at high schools in Dubai and Bridgeview.
“We offer tutoring for all — from homework help to anything in between,” Banibaker said. “We have each student take a placement test and then provide a curriculum for them based on their own personal needs.”
Banibaker said Nova Scholars serves students from elementary school through college and even offers adult tutoring. She said she is happy to open the center in Orland Park.
“I love this community and Orland Square specifically — this is the perfect location for us,” she said.
Operations Director Mohammad Banibaker, of Orland Park, said he shared that enthusiasm. “When we discussed opening, I knew I wanted it to be in Orland Park,” he said.
Inside, staff welcomed visitors with guided tours of classrooms designed for one-on-one and small-group tutoring. Tables held flyers describing the center’s services, from subject-specific help to reading support. New families were offered special promotional packages to mark the occasion.
Nova Scholars promotes its mission as “empowering academic growth through tailored support.” The center emphasizes personalized plans to help students achieve their goals and offers a wide range of resources to support different learning needs.
Its team of expert tutors covers multiple subjects and works with students across grade levels. Flexible scheduling allows families to arrange sessions that fit into busy routines. The center also uses specialized software to organize schoolwork and track progress, providing parents with clear updates on achievements and important news.
