Francisco Chavez, 89, affectionately known as Pancho to his family and friends, passed away on August 22, 2025.
Born in Huandacareo, Michoacán, Francisco built his life with pride, loyalty, and hard work to provide for his family. Behind his whiskers was a bright smile and a lively spirit that his loved ones knew well. He was a pillar of his community, known by everyone in the town plaza.
In his younger days, Francisco was a jinete at jaripeos. He loved to dance, never lost a game of dominoes, and enjoyed being surrounded by family and friends. His grit, presence, and charisma drew people to him, and his willingness to help his children and grandchildren was endless. He leaves an immeasurable void in many hearts, but his legacy will live on through his children, grandchildren, and generations to come.
Francisco is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Guadalupe; his children David, Gutberto, Angelica, Lorena, Vianey, Rocio, Richard, Daisy, and Sandra, along with their spouses; 30 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; three brothers; and one sister. He was preceded in death by his son Flavio; his parents, Don Carmen Chavez and Sra. Zenaida Toledo; and his siblings Manuel, Jesús, and Carmen.
Visitation: Friday, Aug. 29, 2025, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Damar-Kaminski Funeral Home & Crematorium, 7861 S. 88th Avenue, Justice.
Interment: Panteón Municipal, Huandacareo, Michoacán, Mexico.
