A new clinic, just opened in Peotone, offers an old-fashioned kind of medical care with a modern twist.
Kevin Strohl’s Family Health Care Clinic, 106 W Main Street, will provide just about everything a patient might need, from allergies to weight loss, with appointments to walk-ins.
Strohl promises “healthcare that treats you like family. From routine check-ups to specialized treatments, we provide comprehensive care for every member of your household – all under one roof.”
A Family Nurse Practitioner, with vast experience in treating underserved and homeless populations, he has full practice authority in Illinois. In other words, he can do for his patients pretty much what any doctor can do.
“I have been a healthcare provider for 15 years,” he told The Vedette. “Yes, I can diagnose, prescribe, treat, order testing, do procedures in office, (and more).
“I can write orders for x-rays, etc. I draw blood at my clinic, Botox, CDL/DOT physicals, IV hydration/migraine cocktail/immunity, PRP injections. All ages newborn up. I do home visits, if needed.”
Strohl said he chose Peotone because there is a need for healthcare, with several doctors’ offices closing in recent years.
“I grew up in Neoga, a town similar in size to Peotone and know the need and understand the farmers/hard working members of this community. My dad is a farmer, and mom cleans houses.
“I try to make healthcare affordable and as relaxing/comfortable as possible,” he noted. “I focus on quality over quantity. I spend 60 minutes with each patient, unless it’s a sick visit, then 15-30 minutes. I try not to refer patients out unless I have to.
“For those readers who are asking if I have a collaborating physician or what hospital I am affiliated with, I do not need a collaborating physician, per the State of Illinois and my experience. I know when I need to refer patients to a higher level of care.
“I would say to those who are skeptical, come talk to me, let me see how I can help you with your healthcare.
“I have a holistic approach to healthcare and try to meet the patient where they are at in their health and help them move forward.
“It is not my first private practice. I have had a private practice in Orland Park for two years. Been in healthcare since high school, starting as a CNA.
“I have worked with a lot of underserved and homeless populations in Chicagoland for the past 13 years, as well in urgent care facilities in the area, along with Palliative/Hospice companies.”
A graduate of Indiana Wesleyan University, he has no employees.
“I do everything myself,” he said. “That is my dedication to patients, and it helps me spend quality time with them and understand them completely.”
And don’t worry about formalities, like addressing him as “Doctor.”
“People should call me Kevin,” he smiled. “I do not go by titles and am very down to earth.”
His website (www.familyhealthcareclinics.org) shows the full range of services he can provide. His general family practice, for all ages from newborn to seniors, offers same-day sick visits, walk-in appointments, chronic disease management, and telehealth/video visits.
Specialized treatments include IV hydration therapy, IV immunity Bbection, trigger point injections and B12 and Vitamin D injections.
Holistic and aesthetic treatments feature: functional medicine approach, weight loss programs, Botox and lip fillers, fat dissolving shots, cupping, natural wellness solutions, and mental health support.
Diagnostic and preventive medicine at his clinic includes blood draws, EKG and labs on-site, DOT/CDL physicals, school bus physicals, sports and well-child exams, and women’s and men’s health.
