Excitement continues to build heading into Sunday’s much-anticipated friendly soccer match between Liga MX giant Club Deportivo Guadalajara and Club Leon at 2:30 p.m. at SeatGeek Stadium in Bridgeview.

PRIMETIME Sports announced that plans are in place for the friendly match between the two storied Mexican teams.

Chivas de Guadalajara returns to Chicago for the first time since 2023 and being one of the most popular teams in the U.S. and Mexico, it is the only Liga MX team that still plays exclusively with Mexican players.

Club León, one of the most legendary teams in Mexico and eight-time Liga MX champion, won its first CONCACAF Champions League trophy by defeating MLS club LAFC in 2023.

There will be a Fan Fest outside the stadium from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. with live music, food, and an autograph-signing session with Chivas legend, Alberto “Venado” Medina. The game will be broadcast live on Telemundo in the U.S. and on Amazon Prime in Mexico.

Mexican soccer clubs Club Leon and Chivas de Guadalajara share a history and rivalry that has intensified over the years, marked by competitive matches and significant moments.

While not as intensely heated as the “El Super Clasico” between Chivas and Club America, the rivalry between Chivas and Club Leon has become increasingly compelling as both teams aim to establish dominance in Liga MX.

Since 2012, Chivas has won 17 games, while Club Leon has won 11 and there have been nine draws. Earlier this year, on July 19, Club Leon defeated Chivas 1-0 in Leon, Mexico.

Tickets are still available but are going fast. Prices vary depending on section and row. Tickets are available through online vendors such as StubHub, Ticketmaster, SeatGeek, Viagogo, Ticketon and Vivid Seats.

A previous friendly match between Chivas and Leon at SeatGeek Stadium on September 9, 2023 was completely sold out.
