Joseph “Joe” Frank Sojka, 95, of Hickory Hills, Illinois, passed away peacefully at home on August 6, 2025.
Born in Krauszów, Poland, Joe was the beloved husband of 61 years to Lottie (née Potoczak); loving father of Robert (Amy) Sojka and John (Angela) Sojka; and proud grandfather of Jake, Christopher, Katelyn, Kaylee, Declan, and Michael.
Joe devoted 40 years to Joslyn Manufacturing, where his precision and work ethic earned the respect of colleagues. A skilled watch repairman and talented craftsman, he left behind a home filled with his handiwork. He also found joy in photography, playing the violin, and tending his flower garden each year.
His life was defined by hard work, devotion to family, and a creative spirit that inspired those around him. Joe’s memory will be cherished by his family and all who were privileged to know him.
Visitation: Friday, August 8, 2025, 4–8 p.m., Damar-Kaminski Funeral Home & Crematorium, 7861 S. 88th Avenue, Justice, Illinois.
Funeral: Saturday, August 9, 2025, 9:00 a.m. prayers from the funeral home to Saint Fabian Church, 7450 W. 83rd Street, Bridgeview, for a 10:00 a.m. Mass.
Interment: Resurrection Cemetery, Justice, Illinois.
