Bobby Hitz has been around the fight game his entire life. For the 62-year-old former Golden Gloves champ and professional fighter, boxing is in his blood.

For the last three decades, Hitz and his eponymous Hitz Boxing have been promoting successful fight cards in venues across the country.

Recently, Hitz Boxing brought a night of knockout action to Bridgeview’s Sports Dome (originally scheduled for SeatGeek Stadium but moved to the Sports Dome next door at the 11th hour because of weather) for “Boxing Under the Stars” where numerous fighters entered the ring to show off their pugilistic talents.

Some of the fighters were up-and-comers and home-grown local talent while others were undefeated champions and rising international stars.

Hitz, of Bloomingdale, said he was “beyond grateful” to the staff for putting on such a great event and thanked the fans for coming out and supporting the fighters.

“The Chicagoland area loves its boxing and the fans here are some of the best in the country,” he said. “We are so thankful for their support.”

Hitz specifically offered special thanks to Therese Maloney, general manager at SeatGeek Stadium, and her staff for “doing an incredible job switching venues in such a short time. We would definitely like to bring our show back to Bridgeview.”
