Mark J. Kellerman, a lifelong athlete, devoted family man and longtime medical sales representative, died July 22, 2025. He was 69.
Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Mark was the youngest of three children and the only son of George P. and Agnes H. Kellerman. As the son of a Navy serviceman, he lived in Missouri and California before settling in Illinois. He graduated from Glenbrook South High School in Glenview in 1974, where he played baseball, ran cross country and wrote for the school newspaper.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in business and marketing from Eastern Illinois University, where he was a pitcher for the Panthers baseball team. He later completed an MBA at Arizona State University in 1979.
Mark built a 40-year career in medical sales, including 32 years with Kimberly-Clark Professional Health Care. He was most recently a Clinical Product Specialist for the Halyard division of Owens & Minor.
An avid baseball fan, Mark remained loyal to the Chicago White Sox—but would gladly catch a Cubs game just for the love of the sport. He played for many years in the Roy Hobbs Over 30 Amateur Adult Baseball League. He was also a dedicated runner who completed numerous 5K races and nine half-marathons.
Mark is survived by his wife, Sandra; children, Stacy Kellerman (fiancé Nick Dowdal, and children Madeline and Nicholas) and Matthew Kellerman; and grandson, Noah Colson. He is also survived by his mother, Agnes Kellerman; sisters, Patricia Allison and Sharon (Edward) Faltemier; brothers-in-law, Mark (Patricia) LaVelle and Raymond LaVelle; sister-in-law, Shelly LaVelle (late Michael Johnson); and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, George Kellerman.
Mark was deeply loved by his immediate and extended family. He was proud of his children and grandson, and he cherished family gatherings, reunions and conversations. Known for his generosity, compassion, and gift for storytelling, Mark was a friend to many.
