Rachel Skala has been named the new principal of Willow Springs School following a vote during the district’s monthly school board meeting Wednesday, July 23.

Board members expressed strong support for Skala’s appointment, citing her leadership and dedication to students.

“I’ve heard numerous positive remarks from families and students at her previous school,” board President Joe Bonomo said. “I believe she will be an excellent addition to the Willow Springs School family.”

Skala was welcomed at the meeting by Vice President Jeff Wojciak, Secretary Christina Michalek, board member Arlene Napolitano and Superintendent Steve Bahn.

“The Willow Springs School Board is confident that under Principal Skala’s leadership, the school will continue to thrive and provide a nurturing environment for all students,” Wojciak said.

District leaders praised Skala’s focus on academic achievement and her collaborative approach to school leadership. Community members will have an opportunity to meet her during the upcoming Willow Springs Car Show and Carnival on Thursday, July 24, where she will be present at the school’s tent along with other staff members.

The board encouraged families and residents to stop by the event and welcome Skala to the school community.
