On June 19, a Peotone Officer conducted a traffic stop at Rt. 50 and North Street, on a silver Chevrolet Cruze for speeding 57-mph in a 40-mph zone. While doing a driver license check through Indiana, the officer learned the driver, Smith, 27, had a suspended Illinois driver’s license. Smith was arrested and processed on scene being issued three citations, including: Speeding 57-mph in a 40-mph zone, driving while license suspended, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. After being issued a pending court date, Smith was given a ride to his place of employment. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
On June 23, a mother walked into the Peotone Police Department to speak with an officer regarding not seeing or being able to contact her 38-year-old daughter. The Peotone Officer, after speaking with the mother, completed a report for a missing/endangered person and entered the information into the nationwide missing person database. On June 26, another local police agency had contact with the missing female, who advised she was fine. The mother was contacted and given this information, and the missing person was removed from the database.
On June 24, Peotone Police responded to the report of a no injury accident at Crawford and Railroad Streets. Upon the officer’s arrival, it was confirmed there were no injuries. The officer spoke with parties involved and completed a property damage accident report. Both vehicles involved drove away from the scene.

On June 26, Peotone Police were dispatched to an accident at Peotone and Rathje Roads, with unknown injuries. Upon the officers’ arrival, they checked for any injuries with all parties involved. All individuals from the vehicles advised they did not require any medical attention. Officers on scene began traffic control around the scene, and two tow trucks were requested to remove the vehicles from the roadway. One officer gathered information and witness statements, completing an accident report. One citation was issued to G. Trinowski, 67, for failure to yield/stop at the intersection.
