On June 16, at 3:42 a.m., Monee Officers were dispatched to 25792 S. Egyptian Trail, for a report of a multi-vehicle hit-and-run crash. A truck was hit by an unknown vehicle, pushing the truck into a car parked in front of it. Officers recovered a gray car part that fell off the suspect vehicle, which had a part number used by Volkswagen. The next morning officers received a call from a resident who lives on Sunrise, who claimed his Volkswagen Grey Jetta was missing from his driveway. He claimed he had parked it there around midnight, and it must have been stolen. Upon further investigation Monee Detectives determined the stolen car story was made up by Kevin Sheehan, 35, from Monee. Sheehan was charged with “failure to notify damage to an unattended vehicle” and “disorderly conduct – false report theft of a motor vehicle.” He subsequently was released with a notice-to-appear.

On June 15, at 4:48 p.m., a traffic stop led to the arrest of Cody Erickson, 22, from Mokena. Erickson was charged with following too closely, driving while his license was suspended or revoked, and operating an uninsured vehicle. He was subsequently released with a notice-to-appear.

On June 20, at 3:15 p.m., a traffic stop resulted in the arrest of Mercedez Sherrod, 23, from Kankakee. Sherrod was charged with operating a vehicle with a canceled, suspended, or revoked Illinois registration, and driving while her license is suspended. She was subsequently released with a notice-to-appear.

On June 21, at 3:58 p.m., a traffic stop led to the arrest of Jonathan Scott, 30, from Lansing. Scott was charged with disobeying a stop sign, no registration plate on vehicle front or rear, disobeying a traffic control device, aggravated fleeing and eluding police officer, operating a motor vehicle when registration suspended for non-insurance, no valid insurance, and failure to carry driver’s license on person while operating a vehicle. He was subsequently released with a notice-to-appear.

On June 22, at 10:59 a.m., a traffic stop led to the arrest of Jorge Luis Lara Jimenez, 26, from Chicago. He was charged with driving with a suspended registration and no valid driver’s license, then subsequently released with a notice-to-appear.
