If you love country music or just want a lively weekend outing, the Branding Iron Bar & Grill in Bridgeview is hosting a fresh, locally organized country music festival that promises to deliver a unique experience rooted in the golden era of ‘90s and Outlaw Country.
The two-day event on May 30-31 will showcase 10 musical acts, including headliners Collin Raye, a country music legend, and Colt Ford. The festival kicks off Friday at 3 p.m. with music starting at 5 p.m. and continues Saturday with doors opening at noon and performances beginning at 2 p.m. Beyond the music, attendees can enjoy food vendors, line dancing, and opportunities to meet the performers.
Behind the festival is West Virginia-born singer-songwriter Billy Gray, who moved to Chicagoland after meeting his wife here in 2016. Leaving his railroad career to pursue music full-time, Gray released his debut single, Restart, in 2022. Together with his wife and partners, he formed PG Entertainment Services LLC, dedicated to creating authentic country music experiences.
Gray sees this festival as more than just a concert series. “People will come in not knowing what to expect,” he said. “It’s the atmosphere — the energy, the professionalism, the intimacy, and the affordability — that will draw them in.”
He chose the Branding Iron because of its authentic country vibe and strong community ties, forged during a veterans fundraiser he hosted there.
The festival’s lineup features top local talent including Lara Bell, nominated for Music Video of the Year at the Josie Music Awards, and national acts such as Tennessee’s Andru Jamison, winner of Country Song of the Year in 2024. Some artists are traveling from as far as Arizona to perform.
Tickets are available online at linktr.ee/BrandingIronCountry for those ready to experience a country music festival that honors the genre’s roots while creating a welcoming, memorable atmosphere.
