Wipe the sleep from your eyes, grab a cup of coffee, and wave to your local officers — Cop on a Rooftop is back Friday, May 16.
From 5 a.m. to noon, police across Illinois will take to Dunkin’ rooftops for a one-day fundraiser supporting Special Olympics Illinois. The event raises money for programs that empower athletes with intellectual disabilities through sports, health, and leadership opportunities.
If you’ve never seen it, it’s worth the detour. Officers will be greeting drivers, collecting donations, and leaning into the whole cops-and-doughnuts thing — they know the joke, and they’re in on it.
