Dolores H. Ryan (née Kupetis), a resident of Palos Hills, passed away surrounded by love and family on April 23, 2025. She was 84.
Dolores was the beloved wife of the late Jack Ryan, with whom she shared 50 years of marriage. She was the devoted mother of Eileen (Tim) Smith and Tim Ryan; the proud grandmother of Emily (Chris) Powers, Daniel Walkowski, and Molly Rose Walkowski; and the loving “bonus grandma” to Kristie and Sarah Smith. She was affectionately known as “Granny” to her cherished great-granddaughters, Penelope and Margaret Powers.
She was the cherished sister of Wally (Joann) Kupetis and the late Ron (late Patricia) Kupetis and Tom (late Carol) Kupetis. Dolores also joins in eternal rest her dear brothers- and sisters-in-law: Eileen and John Tufo, Kathleen and Bud Casey, Virginia and Frank Horvath, and Therese and Ken Quick.
Dolores was known for her energetic spirit, unwavering support, and deep love for her family. She was a vibrant and caring aunt to many, always offering encouragement, a warm smile, and a listening ear. Her memory will forever be held in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who knew her.
Family and friends gathered for visitation on Monday, April 28, 2025, at Palos-Gaidas Funeral Home in Palos Hills. Funeral prayers were held Tuesday morning, followed by a Mass at Our Lady of the Woods Church in Orland Park. Interment took place at St. Casimir Lithuanian Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations were appreciated in Dolores’s memory to Northwestern Medicine Palos Hospital Hospice.
