An 18-year-old Sandburg High School student was killed Saturday afternoon in a multi-vehicle crash involving two motorcycles and a car, Orland Park police said.
The teen, identified as Mamoun Hakim, was southbound on 94th Avenue in the 15400 block around 3:45 p.m., when his motorcycle struck a car that had pulled out from a driveway to cross southbound lanes and turn northbound, according to Orland Park police.
A second motorcyclist lost control of his vehicle to avoid contact. He.was taken by paramedics to Northwestern Palos Hospital.
The driver of the car was not injured.
Hakim was pronounced dead at 6:52 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
Traffic citations were issued, but no criminal charges are anticipated.
Funeral arrangements are pending.
Hakim was a senior at Sandburg and was due to graduate next month.
