Wendy S. Nieland, 67, of Green Garden Township, passed away on Saturday, April 5, 2025. Born on September 11, 1957, in Chicago, Heights, she was the daughter of Louis and Alyce (Walker) Aigner.
She married Randall G. Nieland on May 7, 1977, in Crete. He passed away on May 21, 2017. Wendy enjoyed gardening, working outside, and creating stained glass pieces. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Wendy is survived by her children, Paul (Jennifer) Nieland of Highland, Indiana, and Jonelle (Aaron Grubb) Nieland of Manteno; grandchildren, Victoria, Timothy, and Therese Nieland, Caleb and Collin Hardy, and Hannah Taylor; honorary grandchildren, Eva, Mark, and Jacob Bettenhausen; sister, Diane (Tom Fitzpatrick) Aigner; brother, Tom (Barb) Aigner; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 10, at the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home in Peotone, with Rev. Terry Krouskoupf as the officiant and burial at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Green Garden Township. Memorials may be made to the wishes of the family.
