My name is Keith Miller, and I am honored to be a candidate for Village of Crete Trustee. When I was asked to consider to run for a potential open seat, I believe it was due to my continued interest and participation of the working local Government, most recently since my retirement.
After 32+ years working in the steel industry, where I was responsible for the coordination of training, safety of 250 employees, and of special projects keeping within budget and on time. Currently I’m self-employed, consulting for the steel industry.
Over the last 60 years of residing in Crete and Crete Township, I’ve been involved with the community starting with my senior year in high school. I joined the Crete Township Fire Protection District as a Fire Fighter, EMT-A, Rescue Diver, Master Diver, Retired 1992 as Lieutenant with 12 years’ service. Past member of Will County Auxiliary Sheriff Deputy and Lions Club.
In 2012, I became a member of the American Legion Riders Chapter 697 Lansing, Illinois. In 2017, I became a member of the Village of Crete Emergency Management certified in Search and Rescue, recently promoted to Sergeant.
Most notable to me over the years I’ve noticed the shift in population growth and struggles that border towns currently are experiencing. I don’t understand everything to do with local government but am willing to learn and offer any input and experiences I can to assist our community to grow and expand.
