A Countryside man learned the hard way that it is sometimes best to not call the police for help.
Jose M. Ramirez-Mata, 40, called the police department around 4 p.m. Feb. 24 to get assistance after he had locked himself out of his car in the 0 to 100 block of Country Club Drive, police said.
While verifying that he was indeed the owner of the car, the responding officer discovered Ramirez-Mata had an outstanding warrant for his arrest from DuPage County, police said.
Ramirez-Mata was arrested without incident, police said. He was released with a court date after he posted bond, police said.
