After the resignation of Forest View Public Works Superintendent Frank Filec in October, Tanner Miller was officially appointed to the position in November.

Miller is no stranger to the village. He has been with the Public Works Department since 2017, when he started as a seasonal employee. Now, as superintendent, he is focused on upcoming projects to improve local infrastructure.

“We have a busy spring and summer coming up,” Miller said. “One of the projects we will be doing is repaving 46th Street this year.”

The village received a grant to fund the repaving project, which will begin once the weather warms up. Plans are also in place to continue paving streets that have yet to be resurfaced in recent years.

Infrastructure improvements remain a priority. Miller said another grant will help fund the construction of a new pump station, as well as rehabilitation work on the village’s water tower and underground reservoir.

“Further ahead, in 2026 and 2027, we will be starting to change out the lead service lines along with replacing the water mains,” he said.

Miller oversees a small team, including two other public works employees and a custodian, all working to maintain and enhance the village’s infrastructure.
