The swearing in of Monee’s newest police patrolman, Colin McLaughlin, was the start of the January 22 village board meeting.
The hour-long meeting was one filled with routine housekeeping actions. Among the decisions the board made were:
- A $957,099.26 payout to Iroquois Paving Corporation for the Cleveland-Industrial Drive Road Construction Project 2.
- A $36,951.31 pay request to Airy’s Inc. – Industrial Dive – Sanitary Project.
- Pay request for $816,060.06, to Professional Building Services for the Public Works construction project.
- A $1,183,795.03 payout to Professional Building Services for the Public Works construction project.
- A $38,165.77 payment to Piggush Simoneau Inc. for the Firemen’s Park Phase 1 Construction project.
- Approval of a Professional Engineering Services Proposal for the 2025 Sidewalk Improvement Projects at Will-Center Road and Linden Avenue for Robinson Engineering. The $71,000 contract includes any easement documents, if needed, at a cost of $2,000 per parcel.
- Approval of a Professional Engineering Services Proposal for Robinson Engineering for the Oak Road Water Main Replacement project. The $80,000 contract includes any easement, if needed, at $2,000 per parcel.
- A $252,306.09 pay request to Piggush Simoneau, Inc., for the new village hall remodel project.
- The bid award for the Marie LeFevre Bailly Park construction project. The board approved the bid from Crockett Construction for $347,610.
- Approval of a $1,363,464.77 TIF pay request for the Amazon Fulfillment Center, a $221,259.29 TIF pay request to Leader Properties, and approval of a Redevelopment Agreement with Eat the Bone, LLC barbeque restaurant for $70,668.34.
