Trinity Christian College recently celebrated its 65th anniversary, reflecting on decades of faith, education, and community impact. The milestone was marked by a series of events on campus, culminating in the inauguration of the college’s ninth president, Rev. Dr. Aaron J. Kuecker.
Founded in 1959 with a mission to provide Christ-centered higher education, Trinity, located at 6601 W. College Dr, Palos Heights, has grown into a vibrant institution known for preparing students to live out their calling. “For 65 years, this community has been rooted in Christian love, equipping students to bring God’s light into the world,” said Board of Trustees Chair Emeritus Cal Tameling ’72 during the celebration.
An anniversary celebration was held earlier this year and brought together alumni, students, faculty, and staff for a weekend filled with worship, festivities, and reflection. A highlight was the reunion of the classes of 1973 and 1974, who celebrated their 50th anniversary on campus.
The festivities included student-centered activities like the college’s annual Octrollerfest, featuring games, a petting zoo, and flag football, as well as a masquerade-themed gala at Brookfield Zoo that raised over $125,000 for scholarships. “This celebration honored our legacy while securing the future for generations to come,” said Vice President for Advancement Mackenzi Huyser.
President Kuecker, inaugurated during the celebrations, shared a vision for Trinity’s future that continues its mission of faith and transformation. “My prayer is that Trinity remains a campus where love, teaching, and transformation reflect the fullness of God’s kingdom,” he said.

At the heart of Trinity Christian College lies a community rooted in Christian love, according to college officials.
“This community has been doing this work for 65 years, aiming to equip students to find their calling and purpose in God’s world,” Kuecker said. “As the College embarks on the next step in this journey, the community came together to celebrate God’s unfailing faithfulness to Trinity.”
Kuecker shared his vision for Trinity Christian College, laying out the plan to continue the work that has begun in the Transformative Colleges Initiative, which launched at the start of his leadership in 2022 and focuses on the whole wellbeing of the student and provides access to all who seek to pursue Christian higher education.
The Transformative Colleges Initiative (TCI) reimagines higher education by aligning students, businesses, and neighbors in mutually beneficial relationships. We use time, tuition, and partnership differently, creating pathways for students to opt into vocation-relevant paid experiential education that can eliminate debt while prioritizing wellbeing.
As the college moves forward, the 65th anniversary celebration served as a powerful reminder of its enduring purpose and the community that sustains it.
