In an effort to inform the community of current crimes and seek the public’s assistance in pending investigations, the Crete Police Department attempts to post information related to crimes occurring within the village and includes arrests and crimes in the community. This is only a partial list of calls for service, as officers respond to a wide variety of calls, which will not be posted, including accidents, domestic situations (non-arrests), fire department assists, regular traffic stops, public assists, routine reports, assisting other PDs, parking complaints, civil issues, juvenile calls, calls of a sensitive nature, plus many other incidents. All subjects arrested for crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
The Crete Police Department responded to 16 traffic accidents during these dates.
September 2
Shaun D. Tillman, 39, of Crete, was arrested for no valid driver’s license and possession of cannabis >100 but <500 Grams.
September 5
A theft was reported in the 1300 block of E. Steger Road.
September 6
Angel A. Prince, 33, of Chicago, was arrested for obstructing identification and three warrants.
September 7
Jordan E. Buss, 30, of Crete, was arrested for driving while license suspended and fleeing and eluding.
A criminal damage to state supported property was reported in the 3800 block of Crete Road, after someone damaged a radar speed sign.
September 9
Timothy G. Hardimon, 38, of Crete, was arrested for DUI.
A criminal damage to property was reported in the 1300 block of Main Street.
A motor vehicle theft was reported in the 800 block of Berkshire Place.
September 11
A motor vehicle theft was reported in the 3600 block of State Street.
A battery was reported in the 1100 block of Main Street.
Todd M. Lenoir, 47, of Crete, was arrested for criminal damage to property and obstructing a peace officer.
September 16
A stolen motor vehicle from University Park was recovered at Richton Road and State Street.
September 13
A domestic battery and robbery was reported in the 1500 block of Faithorn Avenue.
Officers assisted the Chicago Police Helicopter, which was following a stolen vehicle on Illinois Rt. 394. The vehicle crashed in the 3800 block of Eagle’s Nest Drive. No occupants were located.
A criminal damage to property was reported in the 1500 block of Faithorn Avenue.
September 14
Dezmond X. Barner, 22, of Sauk Village, was arrested for DUI.
A stolen motor vehicle was recovered in the 1500 block of Sangamon Drive. Kobe K. Osburn, 23, of University Park and Akeea A. Wallain-Guy, 28, of Poplar Grove, were arrested for criminal trespass to motor vehicle.
Lexia N. Head, 25, of Beecher, was arrested for endangering the life or health of a child.
September 15
Sakinay A. Gibson, 32, of Chicago, was arrested for no valid driver’s license.
September 16
Dallas J. Valadez, 40, of Park Forest, was arrested for DUI, reckless driving, and aggravated assault.
Atraya T. Cooper, 23, of Crete, was arrested for aggravated domestic battery, obstructing a peace officer.
September 17
Luis E. Rapalo-Dubon, 28, of Chicago Heights, was arrested for speeding 35+ mph above limit and no valid driver’s license.
Jose J. Polanco-Flores, 23, of University Park, was arrested for no valid driver’s license.
September 18
Zarka J. Garrott, 57, of Chicago Heights, was arrested for three warrants.
September 20
James W. Hopper, 32, of Lynwood, was arrested for no valid driver’s license and possession of cannabis by driver.
September 21
Dallas J. Valadez, 40, of Park Forest, was arrested for DUI and possession of cannabis by driver.
Javier A. Mata, 31, of Steger, was arrested for a warrant.
September 22
A theft was reported in the 3500 block of Fairway Drive.
September 23
A retail theft was reported in the 1000 block of E. Exchange Street.
September 25
A criminal damage to property was reported in the 300 block of Greenbriar Drive.
Harassment was reported in the 400 block of Herman Street.
A 15-year-old juvenile was issued 24 hours of community service for reckless driving on a dirt bike.
September 26
Ella M. Johnson, 29, of University Park, was arrested for driving while license suspended and unlawful possession of cannabis by driver.
An unknown male attempted to use a counterfeit $100 in the 1300 block of Steger Road.
September 27
Jordan D. Bernard, 24, of Crete, was arrested for violation of an order of protection.
A theft was reported in the 1500 block of W. Exchange Street.
A criminal trespass was reported in the 1700 block of Dixie Highway.
Officers located a stolen vehicle at Exchange Street and Crete Road. Officer’s pursued the vehicle to N/B I-57 at I-80, where the pursuit was called off.
September 28
Gregory A. Villa, 45, of Lowell, Indiana, was arrested for a warrant.
Dedra D. Cannon, 43, of Crete, was arrested for driving while license suspended.
September 30
A criminal damage to property was reported in the 1700 block of Dixie Highway.
