After the Orland Park Village Board voted Monday night to allow for a special use program, it set the wheels in motion for a Portillo’s Hot Dogs drive through to be built at 20 Orland Square Drive, the site of the shuttered Denny’s.
It will be a 3,305-foot square building and will have two drive-through lanes.
There is a Portillo’s across the street from the Orland Park border at 15900 S. Harlem Ave. in Tinley Park that has a sit-down restaurant to go with a drive-through.
“I have no problem with Orland Park residents using the Orland Park Portillo’s instead of Tinley Park’s Portillo’s,” Pekau said with a smile.
The Orland Park Portillo’s could open in 2025.

We welcome Portillo’s…
Also heard that Palos Hills Famous Peppos is opening outlets in the Southland. Keep on the lookout. If you have the “Guts”
they had a second location in Tinley Park for a few years.
Where???
in that small retail strip next to the Pepe’s on 159th Street. Where the SemSem restaurant is now.
