Jeffrey Ralph Cann, 58, of Milford, passed away May 9, 2024, at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee. Born January 4, 1966, at Silver Cross Hospital in Joliet, he was the son of Ralph E. and Carol R. (Rosin) Cann.
Jeff grew up in Peotone and loved farm life. From little on, he loved animals and, on several occasions, had the neighbors calling to report he was out in the pasture walking under and around the horses. Jeff graduated from Peotone High School in 1985 and continued to help farm until he started his welding career working at Berg Ladders and Arbon Steel in University Park.
He married Kimberly Sue Buchmeier on September 14, 1991. They moved to Sheldon and then later to Milford, where he resided when he passed. Jeff was a huge fan of the game show network, and Wheel of Fortune and The Price is Right were his favorites. The most important part of his life was his family. He enjoyed attending his kids’ sporting events and taking family car rides to go sightseeing.
He is survived by his wife, Kim Cann, of Milford; four children, Jessica (Cole) Smith of Warren, Pennsylvania, Jeffrey (Brooke) Cann Jr., Khyler (Esme) Cann, and Kullen Cann – all of Milford; four grandchildren, Auden, Della, Evelyn, and Dax; brother, Wayne (Joan) Cann; sister, Debbie (Mark) Girling; and sister-in-law, Karen Cann of Normal. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Roger Cann.
Funeral services were held on May 16, at Knapp Funeral Home in Milford, with Rev. Brent Zastrow officiating, followed by burial at Maple Grove Cemetery in Milford.
