On the road on Monday, April 15, the Lady Panthers began their week with a huge victory over conference foe Lisle, as the Panthers trounced the Lions, 21-0, in four innings of play. In the shutout, Manteno scored 21 runs on 20 hits, while keeping Lisle scoreless and allowing only 3 hits. The Lions also committed 7 errors in the contest.

“Our hitters did a nice job of making adjustments tonight, hitting the ball hard. Alyssa Dralle and Alyssa Singleton led the way offensively, while Macy Iwanus picked-up the win in the circle, giving up just one hit in 3 innings of work,” noted Coach Josh Carlile.

Still on the road on Wednesday, April 17, the Panthers faced Clifton Central and added a 13-0 shutout to their winning record.

According to Coach Carlile, “The wind was extreme tonight. Alyssa (Dralle) did a great job keeping their hitters off balance, allowing only one bunt hit, along with 10 strikeouts. We had production throughout the lineup and scored in every inning. Julie Ott went a perfect 3-3 on the day and scored 3 runs.”

Finally at home, the Panthers ended their week Friday with an 11-0 victory against Lisle on a beautiful but windy afternoon. In the five-inning contest, the Panthers scored 11 runs on 13 hits, while Lisle was shutout and managed only 3 hits, along with 3 errors. Macy Iwanus was the pitcher of record and now is 4-0 for the season.

“We completed the game we started on Tuesday before the rain postponed us. The girls jumped right back in it, and the offense scored each inning. Kenzie Hepsen and Sophie Peterson both had great days at the plate,” Coach Carlile reported.

The Panthers currently are 17-0 overall and 7-0 in ICE.
