On Monday, April 14, the Beecher Lady Bobcats faced the Lincoln-Way Central Knights on their home turf, but came up short, losing 5-1. The Bobcats couldn’t even buy a run against the Lady Knights. The game was close up until the fifth inning, when the Knights added two more runs to make it 4-0 Knights.

Mackenzie Johnson was 1-2, with one run batted in, in the sixth, but that was the only run the Lady Bobcats were able to score. They also had 3 errors in the game. On the hill and taking the loss, Ava Lorenzatti had 9 strikeouts, while giving up 7 hits. It was a tough-fought game by the Bobcats.

Then on Wednesday, April 17, the Lady Bobcats took on Illiana Christian’s Vikings and brought home a 3-2 victory. The Bobcats came out swinging their bats and scored 3 runs in the top of the first, and that was all that was needed. The Lady Vikings came back with one in the fourth and another in the bottom of the seventh, but their efforts weren’t enough.

Tayiah Norkus provided great pitching in four innings of work, allowing 1 run, on 6 hits, along with 7 strikeouts. Ava Lorenzatti came in for the save and had 7 strikeouts, while allowing 1 run. Ava Olson, who was 1-3 and Norkus, who was 3-3, each had 1 RBI for the Bobcats.

Beecher improves to 14-1 overall and 10-0 in the RVC.
