On Monday, April 8, the Bobcats traveled to Westmont and lost to the Sentinels in a low-scoring 2-1 seven-inning contest. On the mound, Trevor Stout had 6 strong innings, only allowing 1 unearned run, on 3 hits. In relief, Chase Maher gave-up a walk-off single to end the game, while taking the loss. Beecher scored 1 run, on 1 hit, along with 1 error, while the Sentinels scored 2 runs, on 5 hits, and 1 error. On the day, A.J. Snell had the only hit and scored the only run for the Bobcats.
Then on Wednesday, April 10, the Bobcats faced Hanover Central and again came out on the low end, losing 1-7 to the Wildcats. A.J. Snell suffered the loss, going 5 innings, while allowing 5 earned runs. The Bobcats scored 1 run, on 3 hits, while committing 1 error. Nathan Diachenko singled in the only run for the Bobcats. Hanover Central tallied 7 runs, on 11 hits, with no errors.
Thursday, April 11, the Bobcats turned the tables on Reed-Custer and recorded a 4-3 win against the Comets. Nolen Lane went 6-2/3 innings, while holding the Comets to three runs. A well-balanced offensive attack helped the Bobcats score 4 runs to take win, on 8 hits, while committing 2 errors. The Comets had 3 runs, on 7 hits, and no errors.
On Friday, Beecher faced Wilmington, which resulted in a 3-5 loss for the Bobcats in 6-1/2 innings. A.J. Snell and Quinton Allen each tallied two hits. Steven Fezler took the loss but allowed only 1 earned run in five innings on the hill, while Ryan Cruz threw a scoreless sixth inning.
The Bobcats finished their week of play by traveling to Momence for a doubleheader on Saturday, April 13. In the first contest, which turned out to be a slugfest, Beecher came up short, 6-9, in 6-1/2 innings of play. Beecher scored 6 runs, on 11 hits, but had 4 errors, while Momence tallied 9 runs, on 17 hits, along with 2 errors. Trevor Stout took the loss on the hill.
Then in the second game, which proved to be another slugfest, the Bobcats went on a rampage, winning 23-13 in six innings. By the third inning, Beecher had scored 20 of their 23 runs, while keeping Momence to just eight. With a combined total of 36 players crossing the plate, on the day, Beecher scored their 23 runs, on 11 hits, including 4 errors. Momence answered with 13 runs of their own, on 15 hits, along with 5 errors. Chase Maher, who got the win, went four innings on the mound, allowing no earned runs, but also knocked-in 5 runs. A.J. Snell was right behind with 4 RBIs.
As the week ended, the Bobcats currently are 6-7 overall and 2-1 in the RVC.
