For more than half its 103-year history–since November 1964, to be exact–White Castle has sold its signature sliders and more from its restaurant at 7912 S. Pulaski. That run ended last weekend, as the restaurant closed for good. A spokesman for the Ohio-based company said staff would be offered employment at other White Castle locations. The unit at 79th and Pulaski is the second Southwest Side White Castle to close in recent years. In 2013, White Castle closed its restaurant on the northwest corner of Archer and Kedzie. Why did they close? It’s always busy! We’ve been going there for years! Very disappointed!
Cuz like other establishments they can’t find employees that will be on time,not “call off”,etc..every business I know of that hires young people,and a segment of slightly older folks is finding the attitude and dependability of those entering the work force an absolute joke,a bad joke

I think it was one of the busiest location I use to go there almost everyday before I retired from cta really surprised now my Formal colleagues don’t have any where to eat lunch near their Relief point. Remodeling rebuilt but not gone for good should be the answer
My dad brought home hamburgers from there right after they opened. There were nine of us. We thought we were in heaven. Great memory.
It’s a shame nobody wants to work anymore. It seems after Covid so stores and restaurants have to close.????♂️

Hard to believe and I live two blocks away from there. My husband, his family and I would always order from there. I also would wait for the 53A to go to work while I ate. Good memories. Thank you for your service White Castle!!!!
