Timothy S. Evans, 60, of Peotone, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at his home. Born on April 22, 1963, in Chicago Heights, he was the son of Merle and Lorraine (Skingly) Evans.
Tim was a 29-year member of the Mount Prospect Fire Department, where he served as a firefighter/paramedic and held the rank of Lieutenant. He also worked as a part-time remodeler and tiler, always willing to help others. He was an avid reader and especially enjoyed fishing, but the most important thing in his life was spending time with his family.
Tim is survived by his wife, Sandy (Rusnak) Evans, who he married on October 3, 1997, in Matteson; his son, Cole Evans of Peotone; his daughter, McKenna Evans of Peotone; siblings, Larry (Chris) Evans of Indiana, David Evans of Park Forest, Janet (Gary) French of Kansas, Steve (Denise) Evans of Florida, and Danny (Robin) Evans of Wisconsin; sister-in-law, Sheila Evans of Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Bob Evans.
Visitation will be held at the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home on Thursday, April 4, from 3-8 p.m., with funeral services at 8 p.m., and Deacon Jim Kelly officiating. Cremation rites will be accorded following all services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the wishes of the family.
