March 5, Malcom Kyle, 37, of the 13100 block of E. 2500S Road, Pembroke Township, was stopped at 311 Dixie Highway for vehicle equipment violations and found to have a revoked driver’s license. He was issued a warning for the equipment violation and a citation for the revoked driver’s license, street processed, and released.
March 7, James Wilder, 53, of the 26000 block of S. Winston Lane, Crete, was observed by an officer northbound on Dixie Highway traveling at a high rate of speed and having no license plates displayed. The officer attempted a traffic stop, but the car fled and was later observed by Crete PD, who also attempted a traffic stop. The vehicle fled again and was involved in a crash. The driver, Wilder, was caught by Crete PD after a foot pursuit. Beecher charged Wilder with driving while his license was suspended, aggravated fleeing and eluding, speeding over 35-mph over the posted speed limit, improper passing, no insurance, and possession of a controlled substance. He was turned over to Crete PD for processing.
