The Manteno American Legion needs your help! They are officially out of their first challenge coin design! Now, this is where you come in. As a veteran-focused, community-based legion family, we are calling on you, the members of the community to help us celebrate our Legion.
Organizers are looking for three separate coin designs, representing the American Legion, the Sons of the American Legion, and the Women’s Auxiliary.
Design considerations include:
- Celebrates the history of the Legion, Sons of the Legion, and the Women’s Auxiliary.
- Celebrates the Village of Manteno.
- Celebrates commitment to veterans and the community.
- Reflects positively on the American Legion, the Sons of the Legion, and the Women’s Auxiliary, as well as Manteno.
- Utilizes any images that represent the town, veterans, the Legion, Sons, and Women’s Auxiliary.
- Each coin design should have a unique front-facing design.
Submit your design by April 26 to be considered for the contest. Received designs will be emailed to the membership for consideration, with selection made during May. The creator of the selected design will receive the first mint of the coin, along with a certificate of appreciation/authenticity. Local schools are encouraged to participate, as well, as this would be a great class project.
Send all submissions to sean62423@gmail.com or drop off at the Post – Attention Sean McNamara. Please include contact information for the creator and indicate for which of the three Legion groups you are submitting the design. Participants can submit more than one design or for more than one group.
