History of Chicagoland in Maps, from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m., adults: Join Donald and Tanya Smith, whose family has been involved in surveying and map making since 1854, for a presentation about the history of surveying in the U.S. and Illinois, especially greater Chicagoland. Hear stories about map making, the Chicago Fire, Abe Lincoln, and more. Also, check out antique and vintage maps, atlases, and instruments from their unique historical collections, which will be on display during the presentation!
