Call the library at 708-946-9090 for programs that require registration. The library’s Penfield Street parking lot entrance will be closed until spring, but the Maxwell Street entrance is open. Turn north on Maxwell from Indiana Avenue to get to the library.

Drop-in “Write a Love Letter:” Beginning February 1, write a letter to a loved one using an old-school manual typewriter!

January 25, 26, February 1, and February 2, at 10 a.m., Beecher Bookworm Buddies: Enjoy stories, games, music, and a craft for small children in the meeting room! Call to register.

January 31, at 4 p.m., CD Spinners for Kids: Kids, ages six-plus, will decorate CDs and turn them into spinners using bottle caps and marbles. Call to register.

January 25, 30, and February 1, from 2-5 p.m., One-on-One Technology Help: Sit down for a half hour and receive technology help with any of your devices, including phones, tablets, and laptops. Receive help with apps, email, Facebook and social media, computer basics, or get any other technology questions answered. Call to register.

January 31, at 6:30 p.m., Adult Craft Valentine’s Day Heart Wreaths: For adults ages 18+, Free, but register by Friday, January 26.

February 4, at 2 p.m., The History of the Chicago Auto Show: Auto historian Mitch Frumkin will present a multimedia presentation of 100+ years of Chicago auto shows. Refreshments will be served. No registration necessary.

The Afternoon Book Club selection is available for pick up. The group will be reading “Calling Me Home,” by Julie Kibler, on Friday, February 9, at 1 p.m.

The Evening Book Discussion book also is available for pick up. The group will be reading “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil,” by John Berendt, on Monday, February 26, at 7 p.m.
