The Will County Regional Office of Education, in collaboration with the DuPage Regional Office of Education, Education Innovation Service Center, and NISSAA – Northern Illinois School Safety Administrator Association, is proud to announce the inaugural School Safety Summit to be held in Will County – a dedicated event focused on bolstering school and community resilience and preparedness.

The summit, scheduled for January 19, brings together esteemed experts, elected leaders (school, municipal, and county), law enforcement officials, emergency responders, and educators both public and private, to collectively address and provide training relating to the safety preparedness across districts. Hosted at Joliet Junior College in Joliet, the summit aims to provide invaluable insights and actionable strategies to enhance safety measures across various aspects of readiness. Dr. Peter Langman, internationally recognized for his research on school shooters, is the Keynote Speaker and will address “School Shooters: Perpetrators and Prevention.”

The School Safety Summit will empower attendees with the knowledge and tools necessary to mitigate risks and address evolving safety concerns effectively. It also will promote collaboration among diverse stakeholders to develop comprehensive safety strategies that are inclusive and responsive to community needs.
