Manteno Legion Commander,  Sean McNamara, spent Christmas day at the Tinley Park VFW, deep frying about 10 large turkeys for Navy recruits from from Great Lakes Naval Station who couldn’t leave training to go home for Christmas. He was accompanied by Senior Vice, Ed Rafalski, and legion member Dan Gerber, who brought his Naval cruise books for the recruits to look through and Dan’s wife, Diane. This was all hosted and made possible by the Tinley Park VFW, 2791,  and AMVRA Veterans Motorcycle Club who funded and hosted. The 2791 Karaoke Club provided music. The recruits were very excited and at the end of the event, one by one, they got up and expressed their gratitude and goals in the Navy amid wild applause!  Thank you for your service!
